Since I started this project before launching this site, the first two packages (issues 1 through 8) won't be covered in great detail. Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures during those early stages. However, I promise that for the upcoming issues, I’ll provide plenty of photos to showcase every step of the build.
That said, you didn’t miss out on too much excitement in those initial packages. They serve primarily as a foundation for what will become an incredible project. Package 2 does, however, include some high-quality Star Wars posters that any fan would love to have—definitely a nice bonus!
The first two issues also introduce an important lesson right away: organizing your bolts and nuts is critical. Both packages come with these small components, which will be essential later in the build, so it’s best to keep them stored carefully.
As the project progresses, you’ll encounter a lot of electronic parts. Fanhome provides a simple yet clever test circuit with easy-to-use buttons to check the lights and displays. These are explained in detail within the magazines that accompany each package—honestly, the guides are fantastic and incredibly beginner-friendly.
But I know what you’re all really waiting for—some results! Stay tuned, because the progress from here on out will get much more exciting, and I’ll make sure to share everything with plenty of photos!
Well after the first two packes (issue 1 till 18) you have this, the right leg of R2D2....not that exciting isn't. But if you follow the packages fully you have tested some fun electronics as well. For example the two lights as shown below
This all can be tested with the supplied test circuit. Just by pressing a simple button you can check if all the LED's are working correctly. And to get even more excited check out the below picture, this LCD screen looks really awesome!
Besides of the above progress we have some important mechincal stuff fixed also with these two packages. A start with the top dome have been made (and that is really cool). Although it doesnt look that exciting it is a important part of the project!
Finaly a start with the prjector lens has been made also. But we will not be able to thest this stuff somewhere at the end of the project so I just tease you here with a picture.
Now all that rests is waiting for package 3 to continue with this awesome build.
May the force be with Fanhome and the package handler who will deliver it at my home.........
